Assessment of telephony upgrade

CNS assisted a world leader in industrial chemicals in upgrading its telephone system and supported the operational transition from its legacy system to its new cloud solution.


The group used an aging telephony system and circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 situation accelerated the adoption of new work uses by staff (working from home, flex desk, digital workplace, etc.). CNS was approached to redesign the collaborative work system with special attention to cost control.


The support delivered by CNS consisted in assessing the legacy system (infrastructure, cost, etc.) and the requirements for the new system, to determine a scope of intervention. This work was completed through work meetings with group stakeholders.

Technical upgrade scenarios were then defined. Once the target architecture was determined, CNS consultants developed a migration strategy to meet the current and future needs of the customer.


The assessment resulted in the selection of a new softphone solution which corresponds to new needs within the company. In financial terms, centralising operators generated a significant reduction in costs.
